Counselor Gamal El-Gabalawy brings over two decades of distinguished service in the Egyptian judiciary and public prosecution. His career has encompassed key roles as a Public Prosecutor, Chief Prosecutor, Judge, and Chief Judge in civil, criminal, and family courts.
He has led major investigations and overseen high-profile and public interest cases while heading prominent prosecution offices across Cairo, including Dar El-Salam, Khalifa, Mokattam, Maadi, and Agouza. He was later promoted to the rank of Chief Prosecutor and served at the Office of the Public Prosecutor before being appointed as an Appellate Judge in the Criminal and Family Courts.
Beyond the courtroom, Counselor El-Gabalawy serves as a Legal Advisor to the Information and Decision Support Center at the Egyptian Cabinet. In this role, he reviews key governmental contracts and protocols and provides legal counsel in areas including civil law, civil service law, and intellectual property.
His expertise also extends to legal education, having lectured in Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure at the Institute of Criminal Research and for officers of the General Security Forces.
He has participated in international legal training programs, including a workshop in the United Kingdom with the UN Office on Drugs and Crime on promoting human rights in criminal justice, and a “Train-the-Trainer” course with the American Bar Association on criminal investigations.
Today, Counselor El-Gabalawy co-leads Gabalawy Mahdy Advocates & Legal Consultants, offering expert legal counsel across a broad spectrum of practice areas.
